From the 1st of July 2020, new legislations are in place which requires thorough wiring and equipment inspections, which are to be carried out on electrical systems.
This will cover;

How does this affect me?
Electrial Installations – for private rental properties
- Electrical Installation Certificate (if the installation was carried out within last 5 years)
- If the installation is older than 5 years you should have Domestic Electrical Installation Condition Report Certificate with the date of the last inspection not more than 5 years ago with satisfactory outcome of the report
- Visual Domestic Electrical Installation Condition Report with satisfactory outcome of the report for every change of tenancy.
- PAT test of all the appliances performed every year for all the units provided by the landlord.
- Fire Alarm Certificate (most of the times Grade D, LD2 system will need to be in place and certified)
Electrial Installations – for commercial properties
- Electrical Installation Certificate (if the installation was carried out within last 5 years)
- Full Electrical Installation Condition Report with the date of the last inspection not more than 5 years old with satisfactory outcome of the report
- Any additional work should be by a certified registered contractor.
