House Rewire in Wimbledon Village
After being recommended by a previous customer, we were called in to assess the dated electrical wiring on a property in the exclusive Wimbledon Village.
The character property was Victorian in styling and the electrics were almost as old (not quite as old as that but still pretty dated) and unfortunately none of the existing wiring met with the current health and safety requirements.
Consumer unit replacement in Wimbledon Village
First thing we had to do was upgrade the consumer unit (fuse board) as this needed to cope with a much higher demand for power.
The consumer unit had to be equipped with a separate RCBO for all circuits to allow for any issues and ‘tripping’ of circuits to enable other parts of the house to still be with power should one have a problem.
While we were rewiring the complete property, it made sense to install additional power points throughout as the homeowner required more sockets for their computer equipment and sound system.
The lighting in the living room and kitchen were also completely redesigned and the use of a Lutron
Digital lighting system enabled the home to become a Smart Home which allowed the owner to control the lighting from their smart phone and pre-set a variety of mood lighting effects.
Additional power sockets installed in Wimbledon
Due to the age of the building, standard light fittings would not be suitable so we fabricated some custom light fittings specifically for this property.
At the end of the installation, we carried out a full Electrical Installation Condition Report and provided the homeowner with a certificate for their records and future sale of the property.
